Carl
Buckland, Operations Director, Dyaks: “We don’t
employ a large in-house workforce because we want to
keep our service fresh and to use the right people for
the right job. Instead we choose from a stable of trusted
and proven business partners and suppliers, for set
building, installation, lighting, design and graphics.
We think of it as our ‘little black book’,
filled with the names of people who are at the top of
their game and like what they do. We only work with
the best and we constantly seek out fresh ideas and
new partners to do business with.”
Carl
Buckland has always worked for himself. A trained joiner,
he began in modular timber framed building work before
moving on to building exhibition stands and stage sets,
managing road shows and supplying and fitting large
graphic contracts.
Before
founding Dyaks, fellow director Simon Jarvis handled
sales and marketing for some of the UK’s biggest
exhibition and display companies. Although sales is
his special focus, he can still occasionally be found
up a ladder, holding a hammer.
